Securus Technologies Response to Global Tel Link’s Inaccurate Claims

Securus Technologies is the world’s leader in the provision of solutions for civil and criminal justice technology. On June 7th, 2016, Securus issued corrections to Global Tel Link’s (GTL) misleading and inaccurate press release. Securus Technologies claims that GTL’s press release was inaccurate and misleading. Therefore, Securus Technologies wishes to correct and clarify GTL’s incorrect claims.

According to Richard Smith, Securus Technologies’ Chief Executive Officer, GTL was aware that it would take many years and cost millions of dollars to pursue patent litigations. As a result, Securus Technologies questions whether GTL’s litigation is of any best interest of their company. Richard says that Securus Technologies will continue to defend itself from GTL’s attacks while asserting their patents in response. Richard Smith believes that GTL’s litigation lacks patent given Securus Technologies’ extensive patent portfolio and superior technology.

Even before GTL issues a press release, Securus Technologies had already offered to reinstitute its technology. Therefore, it makes a lot more sense to reinstitute technological challenges than to release incorrect claims. While issuing many press releases, GTL does not respond to Securus Technologies’ technology challenges.

No Health Risk to Public from Squaw Valley Water

Some people may still be worried about the safety of drinking water at Squaw Valley,California. This concern grew out of an incident that occurred at Squaw Valley Ski Resort in November, 2015. Here’s good news: there is no danger and no members of the public were ever exposed to unsafe drinking water.

The Squaw Valley Ski Resort is located in Olympic Valley, which is an unincorporated area of Placer County, California. It was the site of the 1960 Winter Olympics, and is near the north shore region of Lake Tahoe.

Here’s the story of what happened. It is based on a statement issued by Lisel Kenney, public relations director for Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows. The statement on squawalpine.com was published in the Sierra Sun on November 30, 2015.

Over the summer of 2015, a water system for the High Camp and Gold Coast sites was replaced. This is the upper mountain area of the resort. However, rainfall was unusually heavy during the month of October. This to flooding of the water system and wells.

The Placer County Department of Environmental Health was notified immediately. The affected water system was shut down, and cleanup water treatments were initiated. By the end of November, three of the four upper mountain wells were clear of E. coli, but they still had traces of coliform bacteria. To insure that the drinking water was safe, Squaw Valley said it would keep restaurants closed and avoid putting the water system back into service until the water quality was completely restored.

The statement at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Squaw_Valley_Ski_Resor also said that the public was never exposed to the contaminated water. No health issues related to the problem were reported.
